McCain Camp's Proof Of Palin's International Experience: "Alaska Is Next To Russia"

Worried that Sarah Palin, who may potentially be a heartbeat away from the presidency, has little international experience? Fret no more! The McCain camp has its talking points together and has reassured the nation that Alaska is next to Russia.

No, that wasn't a non sequitur. It's quite logical: Russia is a foreign nation. Alaska is near Russia (see map above). Sarah Palin lives in Alaska. Ergo, Palin has international experience. Case closed!

Let's look at three members of the McCain camp demonstrating their geopolitical expertise. First, "Fox and Friends" host Steve Doocy who, as a Fox News anchor, is automatically in the McCain camp. Here's Doocy stating on August 29, 2009, "She does know about international relations because she is right up there in Alaska, right next door to Russia":

Next, our potential first lady, Cindy McCain, conducts a mini political science seminar, stating, "And also remember, Alaska is the closest part of our continent to Russia, so it's not as if she doesn't understand what's at stake here... She has a great mind, and she has a very serious direction in where she goes." Witness one great mind paying homage to another:

Finally, our potential president, John McCain, who admitted that he doesn't know much about economics but is "Mr. Foreign Policy," notwithstanding his mention of the nonexistent Iraq-Pakistan border, mistaking Somalia for Sudan, reference to "President Putin of Germany," confusing Sunnis for Shiites in Iraq, and statements about Czechoslovakia, which no longer exists. McCain shows his international savvy when he points out, "Alaska is right next to Russia. She understands that." To make sure that you understand that too, view this video:

If you count the crusie ship stops, I think I've been to at least eight countries by now.

By Republican logic, that makes me king.

MM: McCain received a convention "bounce." This campaign will go down to the wire. Stay calm and determined and support Barack.
