Israelis For Obama Appeal To American Jews

American Jews who have been affected by right-wing smears that Barack Obama is anti-Israel or hangs out with terrorists would do well to watch the video above put out by the Israelis for Obama. It features prominent Israelis who affirm their trust in Barack Obama, including Lt.-Gen Amnon Lipkin Shahak, who states that Obama is committed to Israel's security and that he is ready, unlike George Bush, to play an active role in reaching peace. Naomi Chazan, former deputy speaker of the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee, praises Obama's work as a community organizer, in contrast to Republican derision. The point is made: if we Israelis believe in Obama, there's no need for Israel's supporters in the U.S. to hesitate in voting for him.

The Israelis For Obama made an accompanying statement:

We are Israelis and Israeli-Americans who believe Barack Obama will be good for America and good for Israel. In such dramatic times a leader who is able to employ intelligent diplomacy hand in hand with a strong defense is crucial to our future. We urge the Jewish community to hear our voices. Thank you.
