Republicans' Mantra: "Let's Start Over"

On Monday, the Republicans blocked debate on the financial reform bill and criticized the Democrats for "rushing" the legislation. Sound familiar? Whether it's the stimulus package, health care reform or financial reform, the GOP has one response: "Let's start over." Their goal is to pick apart a bill to the point that reform is meaningless. Think Progress complied a video showing the Republicans repeating their favorite line over the course of a year. Watch:

Honestly, I don't know anymore what works with Republicans or with Independents. One would think that after 8 years of Bush, Republicans would try to move away from Bush policies rather than "Restart debates" in order to relive the Bush years. But as long as their fans buy it...

OM: One wonders which of Bush's greatest hits they want to relive: The war in Iraq? Katrina? Squandering the economic surplus? Attacks on civil liberties? Or all of them?

needs of greedy people. The minute he got into office, he mercifully made restitution for the shabby treatment by Bill Clinton by giving them the tax cuts they so desperately needed. Obama just doesn't get it and wants to let those charitable tax cuts expire. I say tax cuts for the greedy! Tax cuts for the greedy! What we need to return to is "Trickle-Up" economics, which has served the wealthy so well for so long. Shame on Obama for wanting to reverse the gains made by millionaires during the Bush years. We must retain the underclass. Start over indeed.
