Boehner Weeps For The Rich And Powerful

Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) continues his weeping ways. He teared up when the Republicans won the House, making him incoming Speaker. He cried on "60 Minutes," telling Leslie Stahl about his humble past and stating that what moves him is "making sure these kids have a shot at the American dream, like I did…" Boehner's tears for the underdogs he left behind, notes columnists Timothy Egan and Gail Collins, are belied by his support for economic and health care policies that thwart them. Animator Mark Fiore suggests that Boehner is really choking up for those who, judging by his record, really move him: the rich, the powerful and the corporate lobbyists:

What causes me to well up, slobber, and snivel is knowing that Boehner will be just two heart beats away from presidential succession.

Another entertaining post.

Thanks, J.R. Yes, Boehner so close to the presidency does concentrate the mind. Obama and Biden should stay in good health.
