This week's musical video is presented in celebration of my landing tickets to see the Allman Brothers at New York's Beacon Theater in March. Regardless of the band's southern roots, keyboardist Gregg Allman called the Beacon their "turf" and "haven." The Allman Brothers sold out the theater around 190 times over 20 years, a record unfortunately interrupted in 2009 by the booking of Cirque du Soleil. MSG Entertainment, which runs the theater, rightfully apologized for that arrangement and the two weeks of concerts will proceed. Enjoy the group's performance of "Dreams" at the Beacon in March 2003, featuring an absolutely mesmerizing guitar solo by Derek Trucks.
