The camera is a bit too shaky, but the spirit of this rendition of Woody Guthrie's "I'm Sticking to the Union" is especially moving at this time. Performing at Madison Square Garden in honor of Pete Seeger's 90th birthday (2009) are (front, left to right) Mike Merenda, banjo; Billy Bragg, vocals; Dar Williams, guitar and vocals, and Ruthie Merenda, violin and vocals. Watch their gesture of solidarity at the end as they hold up their union cards. This post is dedicated to the thousands of public service workers and the Democratic senators in Wisconsin. In their just struggle against Gov. Scott Walker, they fight for the survival of the American labor movement and the right of all workers to have a say in their working conditions.
