Saturday Night At The Liberal Curmudgeon: Lou Reed Saves Lives With Rock And Roll

Lou Reed performs "Rock and Roll" in 1983 at the still-missed Bottom Line club in Greenwich Village. He's accompanied by a dynamic band composed of Robert Quine, guitar; Fernando Saunders, bass, and Fred Maher, drums. Reed sings for everyone whose "life was saved by rock and roll." In conversation after the show, Reed states that he hit a note that caused him to levitate.
