Bachmann Hopes High Unemployment Will Land Her In White House

Discussing the June jobs report, Carl Quintanilla of CNBC asked Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) if high unemployment will help her presidential campaign. Bachmann revealed her first loyalty, and it sure isn’t the country. Watch:

Quintanilla: Does it strike you that as the unemployment rate goes up, your chances of winning office also go up?

Bachmann: Well, that could be. Again, I hope so.

Remember when Rush Limbaugh expressed the hope that Obama would fail? Or when conservatives erupted in glee after the U.S. lost the Olympics bid following Obama’s mission to hold the 2016 games in Chicago? What is it with "patriotic" conservatives wanting the country to fail, and viewing such failure as in their interest?
