Saturday Night At The Liberal Curmudgeon: Eva Cassidy Sings “Autumn Leaves”

Eva Cassidy sings the most beautiful rendition of “Autumn Leaves” I’ve ever heard–a perfect interpretation of the haunting lyrics. This performance reminds us how much we lost when this outstanding vocalist and guitarist passed away much too young at 33.

Eva does not get enough recognition for her talents. It truly was a great loss. She died on November 2, 1996 of advanced melanoma.

Jeff you are right, Eva is a treasure that was taken away from us way too soon.

You may already have it,but if not, I highly recommend Eva's "Live At Blues Alley" CD. In addition to "Autumn Leaves" there are 12 more gems.

That is a must have in any music lovers collection.

Thanks for posting.

I respect the musical tastes of both of you and am in agreement. Listen to how stirring her performance is here. Eva was a tremendous artist whom we lost much too early.
