Saturday Night At The Liberal Curmudgeon: Pat Metheny Trio Performs “Lonely Woman”

Jazz guitarist Pat Metheny plays a soulful rendition of “Lonely Woman,” a Horace Silver composition, at the Lugano Jazz Festival, Switzerland, 2004. Metheny is joined by Christian McBride, bass, and Antonio Sanchez, drums.

Reminds me of the Richard Thompson song, "I Agree with Pat Metheny" in reference to a less than complementary comment Metheny made about the music of people such as Kenny G. Thompson echoes Metheny's sentiments, and you have given us a great example of what to listen for in great music. It doesn't always have to be loud and boisterous. There is an art to musical relaxation even when we are paying careful attention. There may be nobody better than Pat Methany to demonstate just that.
