Saturday Night At The Liberal Curmudgeon: Rory Gallagher Performs “Too Much Alcohol”



The late Irish blues-rock guitarist Rory Gallagher demonstrated his mastery of the acoustic slide in performing “Too Much Alcohol” in 1977.

Unfortunately, this song may have turned out to be prophetic as Rory died from liver damage in 1995. He was truly one of the greats and many people (many of Irish descent, and at least one Jewish fan (me) as well) believe that he merits comparison with Hendrix and Clapton. His passing left a huge void in the relationship between rock and roll and it's creator - the blues.

Rory was one of the greats and, as you say, was a bridge between both genres.
