Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett (R) recently advised women to "close your eyes" if they object to mandatory ultrasounds. Confronted by a young woman who asked him why he supports the state's mandatory ultrasound bill, Corbett explained that the proposed procedure isn't transvaginal and therefore "not invasive." This despite the fact that the procedure is unnecessary, unwanted and an attempt to intimidate–and women will have to pay for it. Watch:
QUESTIONER: Excuse me, hi. Can you tell me why you supported the ultrasound bill?
CORBETT: It’s a position that I took a while ago. It’s just on the outside; it’s not invasive. That’s why.
