Liberal commentary that attempts to make sense out of the mess we're in.
To me The Indigo Girls were always a band that was trying a little too hard to prove it is relevant. "Closer to Fine" has been somewhat overplayed on college type radio stations. Not to say that it isn't a good song - it is - but I've never given the girls enough of a chance to prove me wrong about them because, frankly, this is the only song of theirs that I hear consistently. On the other hand this live version is more "honest" than the one on the disk; and with honesty comes strength.
If this one is more honest, is it closer to fine?
