Right Wingers Declare The End Of America After Supreme Court Ruling

The Supreme Court's affirming the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, which seeks to extend health insurance to over 30 million people, has made the right wing unhinged. Let's look at two characteristic responses on the part of Ben Shapiro of and Bryan Fischer of the American Family Council. Shapiro wrote a Tweet declaring "the end of America as we know it":

Fischer said on his radio show, "the grim reaper has visited the United States... unless it is repealed, America no longer exists as a constitutional republic." He fulminated against the new arch enemy, Chief Justice John Roberts, who "shredded the Constitution beyond recognition," an act that may be the result of "something...wrong with his brain." Watch:

He spoke for two minutes and offered nothing substantial to support his opinion. There's a microphone in front of his face, so I guess we should accept what we hear as coming from a contitutional expert, right?

Well, since he's supposedly a "spiritual leader," one whose version of compassion denies health care to millions, we should also accept his constitutional expertise.
