Ryan Booed At AARP Conference

Paul Ryan spoke at the AARP National Convention in New Orleans, attacking the Affordable Care Act (ACA) for taking $716 billion from Medicare–the same amount that Ryan's budget takes from the program. In addition, while the ACA slows the growth in Medicare payments to providers, it doesn't cut benefits. Ryan also said that in order to strengthen Medicare, we must repeal "Obamacare." The audience didn't react favorably, as Ryan was repeatedly booed. Watch:

There was no "mixed reaction" as Ryan claimed. It was downright negative. But, at least you have to give him a little credit for going in to "hostle territory" and standing up for what he says he believes, even if the facts don't confirm his convictions. A little credit, but not much.

Give him as much as he wants to give on Medicare. Not much.
