Boehner: "Make Abortion A Relic Of The Past"

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) addressed the anti-abortion "March for Life" in Washington, DC, through a video this past Friday. He said, "in accordance with the will of the people, we will again work to pass the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, formally codifying the Hyde Amendment." Regarding "the will of the people," a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found that 70 percent of Americans oppose Roe v. Wade being overturned. The Hyde Amendment would hurt poor and minority women the most. Boehner also said that "no government on Earth has the right to treat [human life] as a [economic or political commodity]." Politicians, though, supposedly have the right to determine women's reproductive choices. The Speaker concludes with a call to "make abortion a relic of the past"–regardless of the hazards of illegal abortion. Watch Boehner's call to return to the past:
