Sam Seder: Privatization Brings Huge National Security Industry

Reflecting on the revelations of Edward Snowden, Sam Seder of the Majority Report considers one of the consequences of the privatization of national security. Among its other dangers, introducing the profit motive into national security involves lobbying firms working to increase the intelligence apparatus based on profit alone. Seder argues, "The supposed need for all this secrecy is created by those who are making a lot of money out of arguing the need for secrecy and building the apparatus." Those who believe in privatization under all circumstances should take heed. Under the name of "shrinking the government," we've constructed a huge national security industry. Watch:
