Saturday Night At The Liberal Curmudgeon: Remembering Bob Brozman

I was sorry to learn about the recent death of Bob Brozman, guitarist, ethnomusicologist, songwriter and teacher. This "roving guitar anthropologist" started with the delta blues and mastered string instruments and musical traditions from around the world. Above, Brozman did a spirited cover of Robert Johnson's "Crossroads" in Brisbane, Australia, 2003.

Brozman committed suicide allegedly in the wake of being charged with child molestation crimes. There seems to be a certain number of people who believe this to be true, including his first wife and one of his agents whose daughter was a victim at 9 years of age. It's hard to read accolades to Bob when these allegations are present.

Joanie: This is the first I've heard of this. The first link in my post relates his suicide to his car accident. Now that Brozman is dead, we may never know whether such terrible allegations are true.
